(2012) Tenure in eLearning by the Universidade Aberta (Uab)

A public defense took place for the title of Tenure in education in the specialty of Distance Education and elearning. Jury: full professors – Paulo Maria Bastos Silva Dias, António Mendes dos Santos Moderno, Fernando Ribeiro Gonçalves, Fernando Manuel dos Santos Ramos, Nuno Manuel de Carvalho Ferreira Guimarães. The public defense was concluded on 12 June 2012. Approved unanimously (Diário da República, 2ª Série-Nº. 132, 10 July 2012/extract No. 9331/2012). The lesson "e.roots_network: Axes | Architectures | Contexts" is oriented towards the reflection of global scale action. These reflections are aimed at the analysis of the impact of communication technologies on the processes of civilizational change (social, political, economic, cultural) in contemporary societies. In the first instance, we directed our attention to the identification, in context, of the best practices used by national and international educational institutions, completing the delimitation of the guiding axes that should be part of a project strategy. In the second part of this reflection we presented the architectures, the "pieces" that can integrate a portal and a platform of a project accessible to any citizen, presenting the modules that should integrate an eLearning course. In the third and final part we described how we built a community of practices contextualized in the course and presented by the students of the master degree in Multimedia Communication and Education who attended the Unit course of S_acpreI five discussion groups).

(2008) Post-doctorate in Communication and Multimedia by Aveiro University

2010_2008-post-doctorate, University of Aveiro, with scholarship from FCT (SFRH/BPD/44838/2008). The dissertation on E-Portfolios 2.0 and life stories: Pedagogical Instruments for employability finished on 14 October 2010 under the guidance of Professor António Moreira. In the dissertation we questioned different representations of the undergraduates of higher education at the national, European and Latin American level that were looking for jobs, using WEB 3.0 tools accessible and inclusive to all citizens with special needs education. We created a space ( where we identified world leading experiences that generate good practices of employment. We adapted the theory of Experiential Learning (Kolb) and built the metaphor of the Puzzle, respecting the citizen's learning profile, with Dublin Core metadata, where every student can create their e-portfolios and life stories, by choosing one of the competency profiles defined by the researcher David KOLB (1984). Please note, that this platform enabled the inclusion of custom videos with the machinima technique (used in second life). We built the prototype in May 2007. This prototype was awarded first prize at the Poliempreende regional Competition and later awarded third prize at the same competition but at a national level. At this point, we proposed to: a) study how to make this space inclusive to every citizen; b) attempt to index the various profiles that are part of the platform, companies able to hire those individuals; c) introduce innovative techniques at a video level (machinima) so that each citizen can build his own life story; d) to implement the platform for all students who complete higher education, aiming at the internationalization (of the platform) to Europe and Latin American countries in order to include our study on measures taken at the global level: “create an e-portfolio for all citizens up to 2010”; e) promote research to post-doctoral level, doctorates and master's degrees, as well as the integration of young graduates in initiate research scholarships.
